Refund and cancellation policy

Fair, and in plain words.

Last updated 8 September 2026

1. What you are buying

Every purchase on Buka is a one-off unlock of digital content: a whole series, or a single episode where the series offers that. The moment Payfast confirms your payment, the episodes unlock and you can watch them. There are no subscriptions and no recurring charges. You pay once, for what the page said you would get.

2. Why sales are generally final

Because an unlock is delivered immediately and the episodes are available to watch the moment you pay, purchases are generally final once you have started watching a locked episode. South African law recognises this: the cooling-off period for online purchases in section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act does not apply to digital content once you have begun to use it. In plain terms, we cannot un-deliver an episode you have watched.

If you paid but have not yet started watching any locked episode, you may cancel within 7 days of the purchase and we will refund you. Ask using the steps in section 4.

3. When we will refund you

We believe in being fair. We will refund a purchase where:

If you simply changed your mind after watching, or did not enjoy the series, that is not normally a reason for a refund. But if you think something is genuinely unfair, tell us and we will look at it in good faith.

4. How to ask

Email philip@watchbuka.com within 14 days of the purchase with:

The Payfast reference from your confirmation email helps us find the payment quickly, but we can find it without it. We reply within five working days.

6. Cancellations

There is nothing to cancel: an unlock is a one-off purchase and we do not run subscriptions. If you gave us an email address or a WhatsApp number to hear about new episodes, every message we send has a way to stop them, and stopping does not affect any unlock you have paid for.
